Golden Hour Crafts

A Tiong Bahru based after-school session for tactful, tactile play. Open to kids and kids at heart.

Golden Hour Crafts is my little experiment. In this increasingly AI-obsessed, digitally driven world, there’s something precious to be gained from making something tangible with your hands. There’s a bliss in playing with zero stakes— making for the sheer joy of it. This happy flow is exactly what I’m hoping to achieve with my craft sessions.

I’m only a one-woman show, and this experiment is still in its early days. Currently I'm still figuring out if this experiment is even something my community would be interested in.

Please put your hand up if this is something you would be keen to do!

Let’s Play!

This month's project: a papier-mâché horse inspired by antique Miharu-koma folk toys I discovered on a recent trip to Japan.

These charming pieces are carved from timber and decorated with paint, paper, and straw — rooted in a millennia-old tale of a general who won a battle with the help of a magical wooden horse.

For my version, I kept it sustainable, working with recycled materials, stationery scraps, and glue I already had on hand. My own small nod to something beautiful.
