The pottery is also microwave-safe, however sudden changes in temperature between hot to cold (e.g. hot microwave to a cold sink) may lead to thermal shock and damage the piece. If microwaved, remember to use cork or cloth underneath when cooling down. The pottery is also dishwasher safe, however handwashing is gentler and therefore recommended. 

Wear and tear is normal overtime, as with all dinnerware products. Scraping with metal cutlery can mark the surface if not careful. Like all handmade products, the gentler you care for your pottery, the longer it will stay with you.
